Failure to install PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER 4 DEMO VER2

Jan 25, 2005 9:57PM PST

Am using WinXP PRO SP1
Have 16X DVD drive and DVD disk containing the installation program. No matter how many times I have tried to install in the end I get message :ERROR 1628 FAILED TO COMPLETE INSTALLATION." OR At times I get "ERROR 1335. The Cabinet file Data 1 Cab required for the installation is corrupt and cannot be used. This could indicate network error, reading from CD-ROM or a problem with the package"

Have connected the DVD Drive to two other systems and on both the systems the game loaded with a breeze.
Only on my system do I get this error.

Why should this happen only on my system and not on other systems using the same DVD Drive and DVD disk.?

Is there something wrong with my system or WinXP ?

Please help me resolve this as I do not want to reinstall WinXP Pro.

So such bugs can be found and reported back.

Who says it works on all systems?

Did you try IEFIX?

Hello.
What is IEFIX ? How does it work and where do I find it. Kindly enlighten me.
As regards the "demo" kindly note that it is working on several systems wexcept mine. So there is something wrong with my system.

This does NOT mean your system is broken!

You may not have a 3D card, current drivers or something else. Again, it may be an unresolved bug in the product.

As to IEFIX, have you heard of the web site http://www.google.com ?

Hello.
Thanks. Found IEFIX. However it did not fix my problem.
Will running "REPAIR" with the original WinXP CD Installation CD help ?

I alluded that your machine may need a 3D card. It was my sly way of asking about your machine.

Try...

...disabling your anti virus before installing , but after scanning the disc for possible 'things'. You may have done this already. It's standard practice.
