Question

Failed startup HDD--> SSD

Aug 30, 2015 2:19AM PDT

Need help with my computer and it's a long story
cloned my hdd to my ssd and it worked fine, booted my computer up with my ssd and it ran well with no errors. So i deleted everything off of my hdd to create space on my computer with my ssd as a primary boot up device and it doesnt boot up correctly anymore. It gets the the windows 8.1 home screen and trys to log on to my account but it takes like 10min then black screens and shows my cursor but nothing else.

Thanks

I just did this last week. Here's my method. Clone from old to new, shut down, power off, pull battery, move the new SSD to the boot drive location, remove the old HDD just to be sure and power up. If all went well it works. Now I can keep the old HDD as backup.

Backups are worth more than what the old HDD are worth.

- Can you login to your spare admin account?
- Do you have a working image backup to restore?
- Do you have a Windows 8.1 install disk to reinstall Windows 8?
