Question

Factory restore without restore disks

Jun 30, 2012 11:19PM PDT

Does anybody know how i can restore my 2007 macbook running mac os x 10.5.8 to factory settings? I dont have any restore dvds as I bought it second hand and the dvd drive is broke as well. I've tried searching the web on how to do it but everything is completely useless.

Answer
It's like changing the tire with no spare tire.

You can buy those DVDs still so just like the missing spare tire, you can get past this.

You can also purchase an external DVD drive,

or replace the defective one, if you are reasonably adept at using a screw driver and can follow instructions.

Check out Macsales.com for reasonable prices.

your post was removed as it really had nothing to do with the original question.

The OP was asking how to Restore to Factory defaults a machine for which they had no Restore Disks.

What you were proposing was not even close
