EZ Anti Virus program question

XP home
Dell Dim 4600

2.4Gig Pent 4

Four days ago I began using Road Runner cable and installed Computer Associates EZ Firewall and EZ Anti-Virus that are available with RR.

When I run the EZ AV program on a file containing EICAR.com, the program alerts with a popup that says ?Virus identified EICAR-test. To remove this virus please run AVG for Windows?.

Does anyone know why the EZ AV program would want me to run AVG to remove a virus it found? I do have the free AVG 6 on this computer, but I quit booting it when I installed the EZ AV program.

Any information would be appreciated.

I use EZ AV 6.2.0.28

If I try to access an EICAR file the Real Time scanner pops up with a msg to use the On-Demand scanner to clean.

I find it odd that CA would be directing you to a competitors product.

Are you sure you have the msg right???

--Yes and this makes no sense to me. Why not just run AVG and forget the EZ AV?--

I find it odd that CA would be directing you to a competitors product.

--So do I--

Are you sure you have the msg right???

--Yes--

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
