I run excel 97 on my XP system with plenty of memory and
free disk space...saving excel files is extremely slow...I
have researched the net and found journaling
to be a problem, so I turned off all journaling, but saves
have the same slow problem (turning off journaling didn't
make any difference)...I also notice a weird coincidental bug where the dots that get painted at the bottom of the window while the file is being saved miss one dot (e.g. it leaves a blank space)
there is nothing fancy about my
excel use, just small normal worksheets - no macros, VB,
web links, or anything other than just data in the
cells...I can't find any info on this problem...I
re-installed office 97 and that didn't fix it either...I'm
cheap and don't want to upgrade
