Extremely Mad! : Rio discontinues MP3 player line

Sep 12, 2005 7:08AM PDT

So I find out that Rio was bought out by another company and diecided to no longer make MP3 players and I was really concerned because I have a Rio Forge Sport. SO I then e-mailed Rio and they said that they're stopping to manufacture the Mp3 players and if it's still under waranty then they'll replace it and give you a whole new instead of fixing it. So I wondered how could they possibly replace an mp3 player with a new one each time obviuosly they would run out and wouldn't be able to manufacture new ones. And also they said new software for downloading songs on to the player won't be updated so you'll have the same old software until you get a new mp3 player.

SO MY QUESTION IS SHOULD I RETURN MY RIO GIVEN ALL THE FACTS I TOLD YOU ABOUT?

As long as you have updated to the latest firmware and everything works as it should, then keep it. I have a RIO S11 and am very happy with it in all aspects. I prefer it over many others I have tried or owned. It is a shame that RIO is out of the MP3 player market however.
