Resolved Question

External sound issue with iPhone 4S

We are having a problem with an iPhone 4S that is about 1.5 years old. The external sound will not work at all. Others have said that external sound problems are common with this phone. Can anyone confirm that or make repair suggestions. Thanks

I own a iPhone 4 that had same issue

My external speaker wouldn't work and only had a faint static. Took my phone to an independent repair shop who replaced the speaker for about $30 and now works fine.

Here my friend has what looks like a 4S and the external sound is over Bluetooth and actually to my untrained ears sounds fine on the BT Speaker dock.
