Question

external monitor switching between two input source

Feb 19, 2016 9:03AM PST

Hi,

can someone please provide some pointer regarding this issue: i have an external monitor which i 1) sometimes want to connect to a laptop 2) sometime want to connect to a dvd player.

I can achieve this manually but every time I switch source i have to take out and reconnect wires. For instance for connecting monitor to dvd I switch to hdmi wires between dvd player and monitor. For connecting monitor to laptop I switch between vga wires between laptop and monitor.

Does there exist a switch such that everything remains connected and when i want i can toggle between laptop or the dvd player to provide output to the external monitor.

Thanks in advance.

There are over 100 models up on Amazon and in stores. As to VGA there are VGA switch boxes but for the price I bought a monitor just for my laptop.
