Can I ask where is the backup to your files?

Hi,
I recently reinstalled my OS after backing all of my data to my simpletech 250gb external USB2.0 HDD. I messed up badly when reinstalling, becuase I hit delete partition, but on the external hdd! It's not recognizing it as a hdd (Because the partition is gone) but it's recognizing it as a mass usb storage device. There's no way it wiped all the data off right? is there any way to restore the partition? Are there any programs that can do this?
Thanks for all your help.

As in the file location? or are you asking if I have an extra backup? I have them all right on the hdd, and the hdd was my backup.
We need to find a backup system that allows us to meet the basics of what a backup is. Here's an article.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backup
You can find the basics of what backup is, including multiple copies, write protection and more.
Hopefully you can find software to reclaim the partition.

Hey thanks for all of the suggestions. I found paragon partition, but it's trying to make me buy it, and I'd rather use a free tool if that was possible. Does anyone know of any ntfs partition restoring wizards? It obviously works, because paragon finds the partition, but then says "apply changes isn't available in the demo" So I can't finish it.
Thanks for all your help
It's not worth that price...
GETDATABACK on google.com as well.

Well,
This data is valuable, but I'd like to explore the free options before deciding to purchase a software package. I'm a little short on cash, so I'll search first, but I know a few options if I need to pay for it.
Thanks
actually there lot's of.
i'm using Acronis Disk DIcrector, it's disk manager software. try it out. it has recovery expret feature
that should help.
anyway,if something goes wrong then Acronis pay money back within 30 days, so u do not loose anything.
I suggest you use Partition Table Doctor to resolve your problem. The software provides very useful functions:
Backup partition table, Restore partition table, Rebuild partition table, undelete partition, Fix boot sector, rebuild mbr, etc.
well he'll need Data recovery wizard wich costs 99$.
whereas Acronis Recovery Expert is included into Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 and costscround of 40-45$. beside it has more faetures then PTDD.
that's just my opinion.
I looked into that software and purchased a copy. It did the trick! thanks a lot, this has saved me much time, and allowed me to continue my work without consequences.
glad have helped.
in respond to msg above : hope u haven't wasted money
and copied ADDS. And post back whether u like or no.
When my hard drive crashed, I was in a serious panic mode. I didn?t know where to go, was completely inexperienced and came across a couple of good reviews on Fields Recovery. After they got my hard drive they told me what they could retrieve, which was the majority of the data I had on there, and gave me a quote. I had heard some horror stories that some recovery companies end up charging you a fortune, but Fields stuck to their quote, and I got my data back on a 500GB hard drive, three days later. I found them to be professional, straight forward and friendly, all that they promised me I got. Definite recommendation!
For decades we've used Drive Savers. But its good to read your success story.
Let's check up on your story. That is, are you spamming it?

That's only 3 posts but all are copies so you may want to be careful here as when you get to around 10 posts folks will think you are spamming.
