ZAR (ZERO ASSUMPTION RECOVERY)
Programs like this are easy to find: google for DOWNLOAD X with X being the program name.
I have an Acomdata external harddrive for a few years (Inside it has a Western Digital harddrive). It has been fine until today when I realized that it is not recognized by the computer anymore. On top of that, it sounded like the harddrive is not spinning properly. I removed the harddrive and put it into another enclosure. It is now spinning properly but it does not appear in "my computer" at all even though I can find it in the device management. However, when I try to assign a letter to the harddrive, it would not let me (there is a stop sign on top of the device, saying that it is no initialized (and it also would not let me initialize it). In addition, I believe I bought this as a 150GB harddrive, which is now showing all as free space in the device management.
My question is, is there still some way for me to savage the data? I have another backup but it wasn't kept up to date...so I would be very grateful if anyone can help!
My operating system is Windows XP and I have all the windows update already done. If you need additional info, I can print screen and send you what I see in device management. I am not completely sure whether I assign a password to enter the harddrive, and not sure if that is relevant.
Thank you in advance for your help!! I really appreciate this...
