and store 'em in multiple locations. Probably already have the burner too. If not they're awfully inexpensive and easy to add. For system backup I like to start with a second internal HDD...fast and easy to backup or restore. Then I copy the system images to an external HDD.
By the way...good idea on the system cleanup and backup...you'll sleep better.

Ok I've been planning on reseting our computer to it's original factory condition just to speed things up and clean out all the junk. I would do it in a second, even though it's a long process, but we have a bout two gbs, or 2,500 worth of photos on our computer. I've been debating what to do with all of them. The four I've considered are back them up onto a dvd, external hardrive, upload them to an online photo storage service, or transfer all of them to my networked laptop. Which way is most effective and will secure our photos the best way. I know there is no best way because something can always happen but there should be a best way.
