External hard drive or NAT that can store from PC and MAC

by Michael.Cranford1 / July 13, 2010 9:23 PM PDT

I have two computers with Windows and I am about to purchase a MAC for my wife. I want to eventually use a single NAT device with other external hard drives, or maybe a regular router with extra external hard drives attached, to back up all my media data. I have two main questions.

1) Is there a NAT device and/or external hard drives that will store from both the PC and MAC simultaneously without me having to re-format the hard drive.

2) Will any media player (ex. Western Digital HD Live TV Plus) find all my media files (PC and MAC) from the NAT or external hard drive.

I want to have a PC and MAC at the house and use only one storage device that can back up anything and be shared to anything. If I store a JPEG file from my PC to a hard drive, I want to be able to open it with my MAC. This is including video files like DVI and MKV files. HOW DO I DO THIS?

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
