External Hard drive for complete storage

Oct 11, 2006 6:30AM PDT

I have a quick question that might be very easy for someone with the right knowledge. I want to use an external HD with my laptop, some around the 60 to 80G size that I can move most of my files and programs onto to free up the actual memory in my laptop. This might seem like a strange request but I was just wondering if there is an external HD that would work best for me. Thank you very much for any help that you could give!!!

Works but slow.

It's about 1/2 or less speed than the internal drive (transfer rate) but still zippy. Also don't make the mistake of thinking said drive is backup. It's just like any other hard disk.
