External Hard Drive direct to TV Plasma

Hope some one can help here..
My Samsung 50" Plasma TV allows me to plug my WD External Hard drive directly to it via usb. Its brilliant as i don't need a media centre to watch my avi files etc.

I was wondering can I keep my external hard drive in my little comms cabinet and have 2 different TVs that accept usb input to share the same WD drive?

I understand that I will need to have a USB-Cat5e link because of the distance from TV to WD.
Cheers
