When I talk about my documents I can't access, I mean the ones on the external IDE drive, not the one I run everything off, which is the internal SATA drive
I recently got a new computer from dell XPS410. This computer had no IDE ports so I got an external enclosure for the drive. It works great, except for one thing. I was the admin. on my old pc and had a password on my account. every time I try to go to my documents or do something like that, it will not work and a message comes up saying that the folder cannot be accessed because I don't have access. I boot off the internal SATA hdd, and have a new admin. account that I use for everything and I would like to be able to access my old documents but I can't because they are protected. Is there a way to take this protection off? I tried to boot in safe mode but when I got to the security tab everything seem alright, but I don't really know so if there is a certain thing I have to change under this tab let me know. The hard drive is Western Digital 120gb in a coolmax cd-311 multifunction external enclosure. On each computer I had only one account, mine, and both have admin rights.
