Then we call up http://www.drivesavers.com and have them recover it.
If you can live with its loss and want to try Do It Yourself recovery there is a way to do so SAFELY and for under 99 bucks. I buy a second USB HDD and clone this onto the new drive. Then I can safely test recovery software listed at the top of this forum without fear of corrupting the original.
At this point you can tell the forum if your 3 years of work is worth 99 (or less) bucks.
Bob
i have a hitachi laptop hd that i took out of my toshiba laptop. I put the drive into my external drive. when i hook it up to my desktop the computer see's it as a e drive but it will not give any specs.
when i go into my computer it will give me loacal disk E but it will not tell me anything about the drive9 total size, free space. If i click on it to open nothing pops up. if i do a right click and bring up the llocal disk properties (e) it gives me 0 bytes used and 0 bypes free. i know it has power i can feel it spinning.
any ideas? this has about 3 years of my research and audio files that i need to complete my work.
