External CD-ROM drive. Old. Must install manually

Mar 4, 2005 10:00PM PST

Is there anyone with patience that can walk me through manually installing an XM-4100A (Either 2x or for 4x; Can't remember) external CD-Rom drive for a very old laptop?

The CD-ROM drive works when I boot Windows on the laptop (It has 9Cool but it will not run in DOS because I have no DOS drivers. I need a solution. If you think you have a better one than installing manually, please advise!!!!

Added note: I cannot find DOS drivers for this machine ANYWHERE because of its age.

Andrew
