Question

External ASUS VE228H not recognised by Win 8.1 on new HP Env

Jan 22, 2015 11:38AM PST

Hi, I'm new to the forum so apologise in advance if I'm a little technically incompetent. I have viewed other similar posts on this forum but none seem to have the same specific issue that I'm facing.

I have just bought a new HP Envy 17 and am attempting to connect two external ASUS VE228H monitors, one via a direct HDMI cable and the second to a USB port via a UV +39.

Cables and monitors all work fine on another laptop but the new computer does not recognise the two monitors at all. The Intel(R) HD Graphics driver is up to date, as is windows but still in the Screen Resolution area, they do not appear. I have also been through the process of uninstalling, cleaning (via Displaylinks 'Cleaning Tool') and re-installing the Displaylink driver but still not luck.

Via BIOS, I have also tried to (each separately) - 1) Enable Legacy Support 2) Disable Secure Boot and 3) Reset to Default settings all with monitors plugged in and powered on. Unfortunately still no luck. I also checked for any External Monitor settings in BIOS and didn't see any.

Extremely frustrating! Please could someone help?

Much appreciated and thank you in advance.
