Resolved Question

Extending to a second screen

Dec 3, 2014 1:41AM PST

I have just bought a monitor as a second screen for my laptop, I'm using Windows 8.1 as the OS.

I've setup the monitor as the main screen and that's Ok (has the taskbar and desktop icons, on my laptop screen I just have the taskbar icons).

What I cannot do is drag a folder, browser window etc from my main (monitor window) to the desktop screen on the laptop (nor will the curser drag over).

Currently the setup is:

Monitor - The new monitor
Resolutions 1920X1080
Orientation Landscape
Multiple displays Extend these displays

I have tried updating the drivers with no luck.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Gotcha - Thanks

As I face my laptop my new screen is too my left and the laptop screen is in front of me. Its getting used to moving the curser left to right.

In my setup my laptop screen is showing as screen 1 and the new monitor as number 2. Can this be switched?
