I've a notebook in the storeroom that is maybe 20 metres from my wireless router that also serves as an access point. The problem is, they are separated by a few walls, two of which are thick. The radio signals aren't getting through and I'm thinking of extending the range with another wireless access point. But it seems that my new access point has to be hooked up to my wired network, which would mean that I would have to put it just next to my router to plug in the Ethernet cable. So this feels crazy. If my router's, a Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router BEFW11S4, radio signals can't reach my notebook, what hope does my prospective AP, a Linksys Instant Wireless Network Access Point WAP11, have?
