Question

extending internet

Hi hoping for some help I am living on a small island on the east coast of Santo, Vanuatu I have internet available by 3 g to a modem then wi fi in my house . I want to extend this some 200 m across the island to a holiday house where there is no 3 g signal . Where do I start

100 meters is good for Ethernet so if you did a POE you could in just 2 runs get it over a cheap, reliable Ethernet run.

There are line of site links but you can google those. Downsides of off the shelf WiFi is that you are way over the distance.

so how about 100mm cat 6 cable to a router the another 100m cat 6 run would all I need , be a router with Ethernet in and out is there such a device I can have power at this half way stage .We are on the same power supply could I use plug in to power extenders?

Yes there is.

But it's a big world so you have to search in your country. I would not use a router in the center but a small switched hub in the usual outdoor case.

3 g signal booster

The other option I could try would be to boost the 3 g signal at the holiday house I get 2 bars there not enough for internet does anyone know if you can buy a bigger antenna booster type devise like one can get for a tv
