Question

Extended Display - Blank Screen Issue

Mar 24, 2016 7:53AM PDT

HI,

I use a docking station at work with my laptop to extend the display to two additional monitors, which works fine normally. However this morning I have switched it on, whilst on the docking station, and all screens are blank.

The screen is working as I can see the cursor, which I can move off of the screen onto the next, but they are all blank. When I take it off of the docking station, the laptop screen stays blank and I can move the cursor off of the screen still, as if there were an extended display, even though nothing is connected.... Ctrl Alt Del does nothing, neither does Fn F8.... HELP!!!

Clarification Request
I see no models or makes here.

You completed the first response items so time to call it's maker or those you call when it's failing. Since there's so little to work with here, that's why you make that call. They'll walk you through specifics for their models then arrange for repair if need be.

But Dell docking stations have been notorious for setup troubles and arcane procedures to get them to work. I see you noted the Dell laptop but the dock has a part number or model too.

Have Dell walk you through the setup and if they can't cure it they arrange for repair.
