Question

Extend PC screen to Wireless TV

Oct 28, 2013 9:42PM PDT

I have an LG SmarTV that supports smart screen sharing via wireless.

How can I extend my PC desktop to that TV?

I've heard that WiDI works but I've heard it is very slow for games

What about installing a DLNA server? Any good software?

So far, any screen share over wifi is too slow for games.

Even wireless HDMI could get the gamer upset as you read how they are checking out "input lag" on sets. Any wireless transfer will induce more lag and therefore not a solution for gamers.

I suggest you do a little more research on DLNA as screen sharing is definitely not a feature there.

Answer
PC to Wireless

Hello,

For PC screen sharing it will be via WIDI. It would be best to know the model number the set, however.

WiDi requires that you have a machine that has Intel's Widi Chipset.

For the fasted most stable performance we would recommend an HDMI connection from the PC to the TV if at all possible.

Hope this helps.
