Exporting bookmarks with Folders included...?

Dec 30, 2006 10:46AM PST

I am trying to export bookmarks from 2 browsers keeping the corresponding folders to both. Trying Check&Get and URLBase bookmark managers. However my bookmarks loose the folders no matter what format I save them in . Is there a way to do this ?

What browsers?

I'm not familiar with either of those two programs, but you do not need third-party software to backup your bookmarks...that functionality is built into the browsers themselves. Internet Explorer users, for instance, can go File->Import/Export and save a file containing all of their bookmarks, including the folder hierarchy. In Firefox go Bookmarks->Manage Bookmarks->File->Export. If you have another browser let us know.

Neither IE or Firefox seems to want to keep folder properties when exporting

When you export your bookmarks they are saved as a single HTML file which contains their names, descriptions, URLs, the folder hierarchy, etc. When you open the HTML file with a browser you should see all of this, and when you import everything should be as it was. Just to clarify, are you expecting it to save an actual folder on your desktop containing other folders and individual bookmarks when the above is actually taking place?
