Microsoft won't help because my ssoftware came with my computer I have a MIcronpc 2001 All this pretty much started when I downloaded some windows updates. I wish I had never done that. Re:Explorer + Updates = Boom. Here's my explanation.

MySearch/MyWeb is indicated by that DLL you noted. PESTS and PARASITES that are on your machine rarely behave well as we update the OS. Microsoft is correct that they can't help you if you allow such on the machine.

For now, I'll take it you may not have heard of the problems that MySearch/MyWeb, Gator, Kazaa, Cool Web and more cause people. Your antivirus doesn't note such becuase "it's not a virus." Here's some information about removal:

Parasite removal programs.

http://reviews.cnet.com/5208-6132-0.html?forumID=32&threadID=1313&start=0 notes the five scanning tools and removal tools that are fairly safe. If one does encounter an issue, its always been damage done by the MALWARE. The most common issue being Layered Service Provider replacement which you can use LSPFIX (Hint: use http://www.google.com to find).

The thread has follow on discussions about new links if you don't want to use Google to find an item.

PS. All the tools are free.

Blp,

Whenever posting questions on these forums, please give us as much information as possible about your computer. We need the operating system, processor speed, amount of RAM installed, brand name of the computer, (if there is one), and any EXACT error messages you are receiving, PLUS any other information you think might be helpful. The more information you give us, the better informed our answer will be.

Because some of the errors you're reporting may be "malware", please download, install, update, then run the free spyware/malware removal tools below:

Ad-Aware 6 Spyware Removal Tool

?Spybot Search & Destroy? Spyware Removal Tool

Hope this helps and let us know how it goes.
