Exploit/iFrame virus

Dec 10, 2003 10:51AM PST

By using a online virus checker I was told I have 3 Exploit/iFrame virus's. Hunting through my files and hidden files I can't find them to remove them. Are there any virus removal program on line that will find them and remove it. It was the free Mccafree program that found them. My AVG program says I don't have any virus. These are the three files
IE5\ujyrmhoj\wbf.tmp
IE5\h3f79hwe\wbk3.tmp
IE5\h3f79hwe\wbk6.tmp
All the Microsoft updates have been done. The vitus's were probable there before the updates were done.
this is an Dell computer running XP pentium 3 256 ram

It seems to me ALL 3 files are in your TEMP files folder.

IE5\ujyrmhoj\wbf.tmp
IE5\h3f79hwe\wbk3.tmp
IE5\h3f79hwe\wbk6.tmp

You can delete these 3 files from your Tem. files folder !

The exploit Iframe is not a virus, but an exploit... that is an exploit used by viruses such as klez or bugbear... With OE6 and as long as you don't open
the attachment, you shouldn't have anything to fear about them!

The problem with trying to remove the files is I can't find them. I have opened the hidden files and still no results. I have gone to C >documents and settings>local settings>temp internet files>IE5 no files to match. search didn't bring up anything either.
thank you for your response. Any additional ideals

Thejet, Have You Tried ???

Restart the computer in "Safe Mode" like this:

Restart the computer, pressing the F8 key once per second, till it loads a selection screen. Use the up and down arrows to select "Safe Mode", press enter, and the computer will load into a safe mode. It looks like a normal screen but with Safe Mode in each of the four corners. When you?re done, restart the machine and it will boot normally.

Next, make sure that "All Files" are shown by opening Windows Explorer (RIGHT click on Start, choose "Explore"), then click on "Tools" in the upper left, choose "Folder Options", then click on the "View" tab. Make sure to place a dot/tick in the "Show Hidden Files and Folders" box and UNCHECK the "Hide protected system" files box, then click on "Apply", then OK.

Next, close out all programs and open windows, click on Start-Search-Files or Folders, then type "*.tmp" (that's: asterisk dot tmp....without the quotes), then click on the "Search" button. When the .tmp files show up in the search window, click on "Edit" in the upper left of the window, choose "Select All", then click on "File", choose "Delete". The .tmp files are not necessary on the computer and this method should allow you to delete them all.

Hope this helps.
