Explain Returned Mail 2 me

Feb 24, 2004 6:56PM PST

How is it I continue to get RETURNED MAIL returned to me that I never sent in the 1st place?
The returned address is my email address. This makes no sence to me. Is this all part of how spaming+virsus being sent and such operate? Changeing the log in password seemed to do very little if anything at all. (invalid address, no recipent, mailer damon, etc etc etc)
For the record I am refering to yahoo mail and yahoo password sign in. And conferming a changed password via email was not done with the yahoo mail.
What gives?

There have been a few email worms that operate like this. They come in what appears to be a bounced message from you, usually with an attachment that will infect your system if using a Microsoft email client.

So just to be on the safe side, always remember the email mantra: "I will never open attachments without scanning them for viruses first." Which implies a more generalized computing mantra: "I will have an anti-virus program installed and I will keep it up to date."

Just ignore them, or set your Y! settings to filter them out if you can. They're the result of people who have your email address being infected with an email worm because they didn't follow the above mantras.

And while I'm no grand spectacle of perfect spelling, you really do want to break yourself of using idiotic crap like "gr8" and "you 2". It makes you look stupid and immature, which I doubt you want. It will also come back to bite you in the *** hard later on in life, I guarentee you. Better to just actually type a few extra letters now.

Thanks, Papa, yewanchors.
That was how I precieved the nature of address books and worms. I had my ME computer stolen recently and I sometimes feel as if it is "lurking about"
Alot of my internet intrests have not changed and I refuse to change any of my nicknames. I did change all passes to all places I could recall. Seems like a waste of time but I do it regular anyways.

I somehow had hopes of tracking down my pc via the returned mail but thats likely an impossibility.
Thanks for the input.

A worm obtained your address from the address book of-maybe your friends and used it to send the message (one of many, plenty) which if undelivered, gets back to you since it was sent using your address, tho not by you.
