I did find a few bad switches over the years so did you try another make and model?
Also, be sure to use all pre-made factory Ethernet cables.
But give the distance of 100 meters for a cable, why use a switch?
The current set up in my house is that I have the D-Link AC 1200 connected to the internet via a cat5e UTP cable. The router is then connected to a TP-Link Gigabit switch (model no. TL-SG108E) via a cat5e UTP cable. I then connect my computer to the switch via another cat5e UTP cable.
The problem is that I am experiencing high packet loss. I don't experience the same when I connect the cable from the router directly to the computer rather than through the switch. So I am sure the problem is the connection between the router and the switch.
I have tried multiple configurations on the router to accommodate the switch but nothing has worked so far.
