Feb 6, 2009 5:02PM PST

Hi folks.

My wife wishes to use her compaq laptop for video capture / editing. the laptop does not have a firewire port, bbut it does have an expansion 2 slot. Is there something that i could plug in there that will work?

Thanks

I doubt there is a fix for those laptops without firewire and PC Card or Epress slots but you could tell the model number so we can check again.

-> In closing there has never been and appears there will never be an USB to Firewire cable or box. Don't go looking.

a look at pinnacle systems Moviebox Ultimate ($150). It hooks up via usb 2.o and supports analog and digital video. It also comes with a very good software suite. You might consider getting an external hardrive too. Video can take up alot of space.
