Exercising with hard drive MP3

Dec 5, 2005 8:05AM PST

I have an RCA Lyra,I have had it for almost 3 years. It has been a good MP3 for me,but it does have some flaws that I'm tired of dealing with.I'm looking for alot more memory (preferably 5GB).I use it mostly for rollerblading and when I'm on my elliptical machine, both are low impact.I also would like to use it on vacations and so on.My question is am I taking a chance by exercising with a hard drive memory.I'm considering a Creative Labs Zen Micro 6GB.

the micro is a well built machine that i'm sure won't skip on you or break anytime soon. Also, they do have several armbands made for it. Another durable player (if you can still find one) is the ipod mini which comes in 6gb, this one i can garantee won't skip on you, or break.

you should be fine...

I don't think the actual exercise itself is what is bad for the hard drive, but rather the possibility that it might fall or you might drop it during exercise. with dropping your hard drive player, there is a risk it will cause problems...

you wouldn't have that problem so much with a flash based player.

anyway, if you do go for a hard drive player, just be careful, and like i said, you should be fine.
