How strange.
May be a better method would be to format it FAT and then every machine could read it. Not as efficient but if the purpose is purely to transfer files between Mac and Windows, it will work.
Aren't thumbdrives formatted in that way?
The Mac can read a FAT32 disk but has problems with the NTFS format.
Of course, the old standy of 6ft. of Cat5 works too.
P
Who reads the supplied manuals? It writes:
"Caution: Do not leave your drive in its pre-formatted FAT32, single partition condition if you intend to transfer data between Mac and Windows systems. Doing so will result in data loss."
The only method they suggest is to format it on the Mac and find software for the PC to read said drive. But they don't tell what software that is. Good thing I know about Linux.
Thoughts?
-> More to the point, this sure explains why so many run into a brick wall on this one.
