Excel; flagging duplicates

Jul 9, 2004 1:47AM PDT

I can merge two sets of data and sort on a column of unique ID #s (similar to a social security number).

The task is to flag all the duplicates, meaning adjacent cells in a column with the same value. The flag would be stored in some other cell on that record's row with a value such as 1 for duplicate and 0 for not duplicate.

How do I program the system to perform that comparison and set the flags?

Thanks,
