Resolved Question

Excel 2008 updater error

I am using Excel 2008, OS 10.6.8. Excel updater keep showing Auto Update needs upgrade. I install upgrade, but when you check for updates, it always show same upgrade needed. Problem only occurs on MBP, iMac looks OK.

find Auto Update plist file and replace it

You can move the file to your Desktop, then try Auto Update again.
I can look for it on my Mac later.

Worked. Didn't occur to me it was bad pref file.
