They let the banks fail and took them over and they were out of the recession before anyone else.
Diane's always talking about this. Here's an example.
While she might object to it rather than the money going down a ghetto hole somewhere, what burns me up about it is big business getting breaks that smaller businesses never will, thereby creating uncompetitive economic structure through taxes and giveaways, encouraging monopolistic companies. Even big companies should stand or fall on their own, not keep getting bailed or sweetheart tax deals which no smaller competitor will ever see. When I see deals like this, what I also want to know is whose pockets got filled, or promises made that will enrich those responsible for this later on? Maybe it's time citizens formed groups to sue state officials who engage in this type of activity. Of course it's "to bring jobs to....." but someone's wallet no doubt swells from kickbacks on the deal too.
"Here, I'm going to take our citizen's hard earned money which we took away from them in taxes and give it to you to help enrich you even more, and oh, wink, wink, make sure I get mine too"
