Evo X off road

Feb 14, 2009 12:59AM PST

I'm just drooling over the Evo X as my next car, but I live out in the country where, even though the roads are paved, there are still quite a lot of bumps and holes in the road, and an occasional gravel road here and there... although I wouldn't be using this car everyday on that road, will the car handle the torture? I bet it'll be great fun riding it thus my choice...

I forgot to mention that with our normal array of SUVs, we usually go 60-100mph even on the really tough patches... can I still do the same?

EVO off road

Unlike the EVOs you see in WRC races, the EVO X has a street-tuned suspension. It is able to handle gravel with ease, thanks to a "gravel" setting for its AWD system, but the ride is going to be rough like you wouldn't believe. The EVO's sport suspension lacks the long travel and soft dampening that you've, no doubt, come to expect from your SUVs.

If you can deal with some bone-jarring and teeth-rattling, then the EVO can definitely handle the rough terrain.
