Evidence of water discovered on Mars

Mar 2, 2004 3:25AM PST

Breaking news, no link yet. But here's my question: Mars has polar caps at the North and South poles, that move with the planet's "seasons." We've known about those for decades. Those are composed of water, aren't they? If so, what's the big deal about this discovery?

Josh,

Off the top of my head, I thing the ice caps may be CO2.
