EVGA GTX275 and Samsung LN46C650...MOUSE LAG EWWWW!!!

Aug 6, 2010 5:37AM PDT

Hey all,

So just upgraded my TV and man this thing looks great when running 1080p through my computer.

The absolute only issue I have with it is the mouse/input lag. There is a 1/8 to 1/4 second delay in mouse movement. Similar if you've ever played a game like Arma2 or Operation Arrowhead and set the mouse smoothing to very high. Currently my TV is set as the primary display, at its native resolution of 1080p. I can not figure out for the life of me how to eliminate this lag. I have tried different resolutions and mouse setting (Logitech G9) but to no avail.

If I can figure this out with any help from you all, I will never play my games on a regular monitor again haha.

I am wondering if the issue is related to the TV being a 120hz display while my 275gtx doesn't seem to want to put out more than 60hz?

Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks for your time,
Mike.

SpyderPB6,

Try editing the name of the input you're using from "----" to "GAME" mode and see if that helps reduce some of the lag. (Doing so will drop some of the additional processing, but shouldn't affect overall picture quality too much).

To do this using your remote:

MENU > INPUT > EDIT NAME > "GAME" [Enter]

Keep me posted.

Hi.

Thanks for the reply.
Setting the source which is HDMI/DVI name to "GAME" didn't do anything. Changing the source name however to "DVI PC" or "PC" helps slightly, ultimately though, there is considerably more lag on the mouse than that of a comparable 1080p display monitor, that isn't a tv.

Is this simply the best I will be able to achieve?

Thanks,
Mike.

SpyderPB6,

With the exception of a driver update or video card improvement, that may be the case.

Tv lag!?

Sneakerdoctor,

You can edit the name of specific inputs to "Game Mode" which gets rid of some of the lag, but also disables some of the picture processing.

It doesn't really matter if you get lag while watching Blu-Ray or Cable, since the additional processing is quick, and there's not a response issue. If you were gaming, the reaction time is one thing. But just watching TV or a movie shouldn't make a difference. Maybe I'm not understanding, but if you have a question, let me know and I'll try to address it.

If the audio lags, that's a different problem.

TV Lag

Let me explain what I mean by lag. There is slight "delay" or a pause in the picture inconsistently while watching TV or DVD. Im not sure how else to explain it, and thats why I called it a lag. I just received the TV last week and I am considering returning it because of this issue.

Sneakerdoctor,

It might be the additional picture processing causing this.

Try adjusting the AutoMotion Plus feature to "OFF" or "SMOOTH" to see if this helps. With your remote:

Menu > Picture > Picture Options > AutoMotion Plus > "OFF" [Enter]
