Event Viewer Problem with Windows XP Pro

Feb 9, 2004 2:08AM PST

Everytime I try to save the Security audit records on the Event Viewer, it freezes up and gives me the good old "send report to Microsoft?". Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any help!

What happens?

I tried it in safe mode, and their were no problems. It saved normally, so I know it must be one of the settings; but which one? Something in the local security policy?

I would not know which setting you or some malware may have changed. The Event Viewer itself may yield the clue with an EventID at the time of the failure.
