European Compatibility

Jun 25, 2005 12:10AM PDT

I've been offered a great deal on a new Qosmio G20, the european/canadian version of the beautiful new Qosmio G25. Does anybody know if i'll run into any compatibility problems (ac power, wireless networking, software etc.) using a european notebook here in the US? Thanx for your help!

Sometimes the DVD region or NTSC/PAL settings.

But the machine, Wifi and power all should be fine.

Worst case scenerio is the DVD and TV won't work. But could be fixed for a small fee.

What do you mean?

Is it a software problem that I could download drivers for, or a hardware problem that a toshiba vendor would have to fix?

Such as the DVD drive issue.

The region code for the DVD drive can only be changed a few times and then, most often you replace the drive. At first a person will exclaim "that can't be right", but if you research it, you find out this is a nasty thing about DVD regions.

As to NTSC/PAL, it depends on specifics with the laptop. I only note the worst case scenario is that Toshiba may have to swap out a TV tuner to NTSC if you don't see an option.

Other than these 2 items, the unit should be just fine.
