EU ban on chickens and eggs from US - not good news on so many levels ...

Feb 24, 2004 12:19AM PST

BBC TV report this morning, but seen nothing on CNN yet (though I could well have missed something).

Seemingly, a mild version of the chicken flu has been found in three US states and some 800,000 live chickens are imported (or were!) into the EU.

I guess lots of links will arrive pretty quickly on the web.

Sad

Typical! I spoke too soon. CNN just reported that ...

It's not only the EU.

This ban relates to a version of the flu that is chicken-to-chicken in these states as opposed to a chicken-to-human strain.

Hmmm....maybe they should use those eggs to make a vaccine for it. It's not like they aren't already incubated with the virus....
