That's very slim information. As such all I can do is ask you try System Restore to when it worked.

Or tell a story why you think this happened.

What I know is that just that error code is "not much" to work with. Microsoft never created a map of what to do with these numbers.

How did the system restore turn out?

That's a good idea. Try the Device Manager, remove the sound card, then install your sound card drivers. I can't know what you need for this driver since your post is far too light in information.

Your machine has a make and model number. I can't read them from here.

I've already asked for such, but you don't answer. If you don't, I'll have to keep waiting.

Do you have a Hewlett-Packard VL 5/200 Series 5 ?
Oct 8, 2004 7:41AM PDT

That's in your report, but I must ask if that is true as well as why you didn't tell. Please understand that the harder you make this, the longer it takes.

Next, you did not follow the instructions I provided. You supplied SERIAL NUMBERS in your post.

Bob

PS. I need the HP answer so I might narrow down which sound driver to point at.

Driver usage.
Oct 8, 2004 8:51AM PDT

Just to make sure, I opened the .ZIP (I used TUGZIP) and read the install instructions in the README.TXT file.

If you don't know about .ZIP files, ask in the Newbies forum. They cover that a lot.
