Please help! Windows XP on my Compaq laptop. I get Stop: c000021a {fatal sys error} Windows process terminated status 0xc00000000 ox00000000. I tried starting in safe mode, last known good configuration, reboot and I get the same message.

If so boot from it - goto the recovery console and type
-------------
chkdsk /r
-------------
This will check your hard disk for errors.

The type
-------------
sfc /scannow
-------------
this will restore the file if it is corrupt.

If the 2 above dont work then boot to the CD and select "repair" by typing R

Let me know how you go
Peter

All data on my drive will be deleted. I just purchased fix-it Utilities but it hasn't helped. Thanks.

Does your recovery Cd come with the recovery console?
Perhaps you can borrow some else's CD and use it?
Otherwise the only thing is use a third party program such as BartPe or the ultimate boot CD (do a google) and create a boot CD which will allow you to backup your data file and then, unfortunately you with have to use your recovery CD, and yes!, you will have to start from scratch
Or buy winXP upgrade CD or OEM version on ebay and try doing a repair.
