External drives often arrive formatted in what is called FAT32 which is very compatible with almost any computer does have a very bad side effect compounded by odd error messages from Windows.

For example if some file is bigger than 4GB in the PC and you copy it to said drive the error message will not tell you the file doesn't fit on FAT32 drives but instead can tell the owner the drive is full or the source file can't be read.

Do you think it's time such error messages are fixed?
