Error Msg on Every Boot

Jul 7, 2010 1:00AM PDT

Win7 64-bit

Each time I reboot the computer this error message pops up:

Desktop The Properties For This Item Are Not Available

When I click on the "OK" the message box disappears. The computer seems to be functioning properly otherwise. All of my desktop icon/short-cuts seem to be okay too. This just started within the last week.

~Thank you!

Thanks for that link. I Googled a lot before posting my problem here and did not see the link you provided.

However, that answers' recommended location of
C:\Users\David\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
doesn't match up with my computer's configuration, I am 64-bit not 32-bit. (Not sure if that's why they are different).

Changing "David" to my name doesn't help. I can't find the location of "Startup" even after trying numerous "Search programs and files" searches and just opening the C drive and looking for it.

FIXED IT
Jul 7, 2010 2:33AM PDT

I had to do some other searches and finally found the "Startup" folder. (Weird that it didn't show up under the standard search).

And there was a desktop short-cut link in there for an application I had recently reinstalled. I deleted it. Rebooted. And the error message has disappeared.

Thanks bob b for the assistance!

Just so you know

Start>all programs>startup>rc>properties.

That will show where windows hid it.
