MP3 player

Actually No - they never gave any help.

I have been asked for a device certificate but cannot find one.

I took the player back to the shop but they downloaded music onto it no problem at all - must be my computer but where and what.

MP3

Hi Bob

The player is a Sony Walkman NWZ-B152.

It plugs directly into the computer - no usb lead needed.

It states in the instructions that you have to drag and drop but when I try that I get the Device Certificate needed instruction..

If I try to sync it just clicks over to finished and there is nothing on the player.

In the store they just synced music onto it no trouble at all and told me it must be my computer.

I got that error code from a forum when trying to find Device Certificate info.

I have never had any problems sycing music onto a player before.

I cannot find out how to update the WMP - I am using Windows 7 Home 64bit.

Does this help.

Sorry no.

While we now know a bit more, nothing about if the link and the items noted there were checked. For example that date and time issue.

Sorry but this is all volunteer so members must read the supplied links and do the work. Once in awhile a member is upset with that and I apologize that we don't have paid staff.

Apology
May 31, 2011 5:47PM PDT

Sorry Bob I was not being facetious.

My wmp was installed on my computer when I got Windows 7 Home so I would presume its latest version and I do not know of any way to update it.

My computer clock is spot on.

As far as I as I can see the MP3 player does not have a clock.

I did reset the device and also format it.

I guess that covers it all and if I have ruffled anyones feelings I am sorry.

I know yo,u all do a good job - also voluntary so thanks again.

Then it looks like WMP is dead.

Hi Bob

I knew about the drag and drop feature but when I try that I get the Device Certificate need.

I have received this from Sony.

Unfortunately I do not have that option in the library Section menu.

I am unsure of what type of files they are.

Since you don't know what the files are.

Then why should they sync or play on this?

For example a friend asked me to help but didn't tell me the content was protected iTune downloads. That ended pretty fast since they didn't have the iPod.

SUCCESS
Jun 3, 2011 1:34AM PDT

Hi Bob

I found a forum that explained in words and pictures (for idiots like me) how to change the files to MP3 which I have done and the player is now up and running.

So many thanks fora ll the time you have spent on this.

Perhaps it will be of use to other people.

Regards
