to mchainmchain. dell laptop with windows xp or windows 7(friends) the error message pops up and evidently is unable to do anything else with laptop? It happened after she was on a website for a catalog. Is there a way to fix this? What other info do you need to procede? Cannot fix something I cannot see here.
error shows up as a result of browser add ons such as toolbars.
uninstall or disable all the toolbars then one at a time add back the ones you can't live without.
You didn't tell us just what is being done immediately before the error so I will assume you are browsing the web. MSIE can be started without add ons either by Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Addons) or by typing the following into the Run command textbox = iexplore.exe -extoff
