Error message - Rio Carbon 6Gig / Windows 2000

Aug 4, 2005 8:06AM PDT

I got my first mp3 player, a Rio Carbon, yesterday and started ripping CDs with Rio Music Manager. I got about 8 done last night.

This morning I started trying again, and it would rip a lot of the tracks and start encoding them, but then RMM would automatically shut down and give me an error. This is the text. I've never heard of it before:

<<Dr. Watson Fatal Error Dr. Watson was unable to attach to the process. It is possible that process exited before Dr. Watson could attach to it.

Windows 2000 Returned error code = 87
The Parameter is incorrect.>>

It keeps shutting itself down after about 5 minutes of use. What on earth do I do?

I'm not tech savvy enough to figure it out on my own, so please, go light on the tech speak.

Layman's terms would be great. Thanks so much.
