Error message at start up

I've had various problems after virus infection - manged to fix some by using IEfix but now when I start up my computer I get an error message saying that IE has been uninstalled and if I want to remove my personal applications - IE seems to be working properly - can someone help to remove this message ?

Would reinstalling IE help? If so is there someone with some patience that can explain how to ... thks in advance

Did you

try going to the Control panel

Add/Remove programs

Choose Internet Explorer

Click on it and choose repair.

You must be the administrator when you do this.

Tried reinstalling but error message says cannot install because already installed newer version - so I installed service pack 2 for IE but still get the message when restarted computer - how can I remove IE if no voice in installed programms?

Virus damage can be tricky ...

but a clean install of Windows XP will surely help. However, as long as everything goes well, you can consider to leave the situation as it is, and do nothing about it. That's up to you.
