Error Message

Dec 14, 2003 1:32PM PST

I just built a new system. It has a AMD 3000+ cpu,
120gig Western Digital Harddrive. Dvd Burner. When
installing Windows XP Prof. the partion goes well
and when rebooting shows Window screen then the blue screen which says "Unmountable Boot Volume". It mentions rebooting machine. Possible Hardware or software issue. Anybody have this problem? I have built several machines and never seen this problem I even trying reloading Windows same thing. Thanks

Do you have another HDD totest the installlation of XP?

Or can you run a ChkDsk or Scandisk (if it's in FAT32)?

I tried everything that is on the internet

1. I don't see that this statement indicates the exact procedure and steps used/followed from the MSKB reference, which David conveniently gave you.

2. Perhaps it would be to your advantage to explicitely state just how the hard drive is setup and configured, as well as any other situation indicative by the system itself.

All I have done so far is format hard drive, as NTFS
I did not partition it. As soon as it is finished it
reboots the Windows XP screen comes on and the blue screen appears. When I ran ckdsk it stated it found errors on boot sector and repaired them. Thanks
to everybody that has helped!!!
