Plugging the error into google gets some hits. Most have to do with a service called Bigpond. Sound familiar? Basically it seems be be a timing issue with the logon and getting an IP address. I'd encourage you to plug in the error yourself and read the responses to see if something sounds familiar. I am wondering if you use ethernet or USB. Do you have a router. How do you get your PCs IP address. I am thinking using a router with ethernet and establishing a static IP address might be something to try.
When browsing the web with IE6, I get the error message
"2033E The authentication host or the network is unavailable"
This appears after about 5 to 10 mins of activity. If I click "OK" in this window, I am immediately disconnected from the internet. If I don't click OK, I can keep the error window in the background, but I will be unable to open new web sites after about another 10 minutes. I can log back on if I disconnect from the internet (because the cable modem window in the bottom right of the screen thinks I am still connected), disable my Norton internet security program, then reconnect. If I don't disable the Norton's, I can't reconnect.
I would appreciate comments as my ISP has not been too helpful to this point.
NB: 1 week ago I got a Dell pentium4 3.2GHz 1G RAM computer, with motorola cable modem.
Many thanks
